About Tiger Z

Engineering Portfolio

I’m Tiger, a mechanical engineer who loves building things: cars, prototypes, processes, and occasionally, entire adventures. I’ve restored cars since I was a teenager, studied Mechanical Engineering at USC, and now work in manufacturing building BMW structural components. Engineering for me is hands-on, global, and always evolving, and I bring the same energy to everything from shop‑floor problem solving to exploring new places like this moment in Prague.

Grit and resilience

Varsity Rower and VP of Logistics for USC

I never had the makings of a varsity athlete. But that had not stopped me. I stayed longer than the others, I practiced day and night and shouldered the pain. I worked with my teammates in perfect sync. Most importantly, my resilience inspired my teammates, leading the team to second place in Head of the Lagoon and put USC on the map toward the 5th in the nation.

Values instilled by the best

Thank you mom

Despite leaving home at an early age, I was well supported by my family. My mom always taught me the importance to read and learn, to strive, to seek, and not to yield. My sense of adventure and resilience was instilled by the best of the best.

Study Abroad Experiences

Traveler and lifelong student

Ever since 14 years old, I have traveled around the world. Not only did I choose French as a second major in college, I studied abroad 3 times and worked abroad: sold real estates in Paris, made goat cheese on the swiss border, and made a living playing violin on the streets of Geneva. These invaluable experiences taught me the importance of empathy and kindness, which made me more effective in the leadership in my current multinational cross functional team.
